Verdict: Protect Jim Cummings at all costs. Following his thunderous directorial debut (get it?) a couple of years ago that blended drama and comedy perfectly, the comedian is back with another gem that proves that he's got a bright future ahead of him. This time, he chose to scrap the dramatic aspects of the narrative and replace them with horror elements as the story takes place in a small town terrorized by what appears to be a werewolf.
"The Wolf of Snow Hollow" is the perfect movie to put on if you're looking to get in the Halloween spirit but are not a fan of traditional horror flicks. It's light, funny, and is lead by a very likable lead in Officer John Marshall played by, you guessed it, Jim Cummings. He's once again the star of the film as he brings a magical balance of seriousness and light-heartedness, topped with phenomenal comedic timing.
Even though the film's presentation isn't in any way spectacular, you can still tell that a lot of heart was poured into a project that I bet was allocated minimal budgetary means. You can see that Jim Cummings' goal with it was to birth something that would cheer up those who watched it, and he beautifully succeeded in doing so. With a runtime of only 83 minutes, I don't see a reason not to give the movie a shot because trust me, it'd be a shame if "The Wolf of Snow Hollow" flew under people's radars as it is exactly what the world currently needs.
FINAL GRADE: 7/10
