Verdict: I wouldn't qualify "6 Underground" as Michael Bay's worst movie to date, but rather his most obnoxious.
The movie stars Ryan Reynolds and serves as the director's first contribution to Netflix, who had to spend $150 million to make it happen (making it the streaming service's second most expensive movie to date after Scorsese's "The Irishman", which cost $175 million). In it, the Deadpool star plays a billionaire who fakes his own death in order to assemble a team of mercenaries whose mission is to take down an evil dictator. Or something of that sort.
Now obviously, Bay's intent was not to make an artistic, intellectual film that requires brain power to understand. In fact, if you think about the narrative just a little bit, it all crumbles apart like a sandcastle in a storm. He clearly wanted to make a testosterone-fueled action flick full of explosions, silly one-liners, and pop culture references. And in a way, he exactly achieves that. But God was it tough to get through. There were more cuts than seconds in this two hour long film that ultimately gave me more of a headache than a fun ride. Apart from a few fun scenes (that you can watch in the trailer), I found everything else to be unbearably messy, chaotic, and just plain boring.
I'm sure that there is a particular audience for that movie, but I'm definitely not part of it. If you enjoy the first 10 minutes of it, you'll probably enjoy the rest. If not, turn it off and rewatch "Marriage Story" instead.

FINAL GRADE: 3/10
