Verdict: I had a long day at work. I wanted to kick back with a light film and chose to watch "Good Boys" despite having a gut-feeling that I wasn't going to enjoy it all. I shouldn't have doubted myself, I should've picked something else because in fact, enjoyable is the last thing I'd call this movie.
I can state exactly two things I sort of liked about it: The final 10 minutes do have some kind of heart despite being horribly cheesy and its runtime "only" 90 minutes long (even though it felt much longer). Everything else is painful to watch. "They're kids" is the punchline of 95% of the jokes, and the other 5% are both predictable and overdone in previous comedies. The soundtrack is obnoxious, the characters are annoying, the narrative is dumb, the writing is lazy, the acting is uninspired... I cringed where I was supposed to laugh, and laughed.... not a single time.
Very few writers know how to write children characters and the ones who were in charge of "Good Boys" are not part of that exclusive group. I didn't love "Booksmart" as much as most people did, but this film, which deals with similar themes, made me respect it so much more.

FINAL GRADE: 2/10
