Verdict: When I first read this film's synopsis, I thought to myself that I would make for a perfect self-aware B-movie. And while it definitely does belong to that genre, I still thought that it didn't use that aspect to its full potential.
About a weapons factory that developed an energy drink that turned all its employees into zombies, "Office Uprising" stars big names such as Brendon Thwaites (Robin in DC's "Titans"), Jane Levy (known for starring in films such as "Evil Dead" or "Don't Breathe"), Karan Soni (the beloved Dopinder from the Deadpool movies), and Zachary Levi (Shazam himself!) who all do a pretty good job at not taking the film seriously and make it as much fun as possible. My issues with this movie lie mainly in its script and execution. Most of the jokes felt forced and inorganic, the rules of the movie conveniently were different for some characters, and the dialogue wasn't as goofy as I was expecting it to be. The film also fails to look like a B-movie. Instead of opting for over-the-top practical effects (similarly to "The Evil Dead") or purposely terrible CGI (like in "Sharknado"), it relies on forgettable, bad computer effects and makeup that just didn't do it for me.
"Office Uprising" was a missed opportunity more than anything else. It definitely is goofy at times and does provide some fun action. I just don't see myself remembering any of it in a week's time.

FINAL GRADE: 4/10
